2 series is a enthusiast car so I understand not having 235i.
People who want a BMW will have a chance to buy 228i. Enthusiasts that want a performance car will buy M235i. I like the strategy and the nomenclature.. BMW wants to make M cars more race track oriented and MPA (M Performance Automobiles) will be great fun cars but daily driving friendly which current M cars seem to be. |

Seems that it may only be 225i.
See the VIN list search results @ http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=799090

I did see that thread but it contrasts with the first post in this thread which says that the m235i and 228i will be joined in Europe by the 220i, 218d, 220d and 225d. (no mention is made of 225i). I've been following these forums for years now and i am aware of how much you have been contributing. Accordingly, when i saw the above inconsistency i had to ask the question as my next car will most probably be the 2er. |

Good news on the M235 and M2 coming....Hopefully BMW sticks with he 6cyl turbo for the M2 at least but either a 4 or 6 i am sure both will kick and a MUST 6M/T option....i prefer the 6....Also any mention of the steering???? Again i hope the leave it hydrolic like the 1M and 135i or like the M3 that is adjustable...

Driving feel- I've have not enjoyed any of the ZF 8speed units that I've been in- they don't seem anywhere near as smooth or fast as the dual clutch. Not saying the ZF unit is bad, but it feels like a normal automatic for me, not a replacement for the dual clutch.
That being said, maybe over there in Germany you may be having a better experience with it, but with what's available here in the US: I'll take a DCT, please. |
