Tyres
Ok, I need some new rubber and i currently have cup+ all round. I need 2 rear 265 / 35 / 19. I'm looking at the PS2's and have been quoted £298 for one fitted although they are 94y rather than the 98y (cup+). Are 94 fine or do i have to go for 98?
Pleased to say that i got 9000 out of the cups. thanks. |

Yes i'm looking at ps2. Its just that a choice in available, n0, n1 and n2 and the difference is in the speed v load rating. 274 is the best i found for N1 but are 94 y and do not have 'bmw' star, although thanks to Donm3 the best price bmw star (98y) 265/35/19 michelin are 298 (dealer wanted 440).

That's an amazing price! Well done. Any tips for how we can negotiate this kind of discount?

Hi,
I would speak to your local Kwik-fit,and give name of Chris, manager of K/Fit South Shields 0191 4569889,he had to order all mine from Michelin,so not as though he had them in stock. lads could also use other companies to negotiate prices,if i got them for £950 all in,imagine the profit all the tyre comp are making if you take some of the prices first quoted, they all think we are loaded with having M3'S,some of us save, not pi$$ it up!!! I changed from PS2`s to the eagle f1 asymetric, although you have to change the size of the rear ones slightly, i didnt really notice a difference, however the grip of the eagle f1s are equal in the dry but much better in the wet.
The upside was that a full set of tyres only cost me £660 which is much cheaper thant the PS2`s.

For a decent performance car,i thought i would stick to the next best to the cups,ie the PS2's,dont get me wrong,i like the Goodyear asy,had them on my golf, but as car only 1yr old, dont want to give BMW anything to moan about.
Great price for the goodyears mate, most of the tyres these days are great. Chris. |

i ran dunlop sport maxx on the e46 m3 for 3 years. far better than the michers and contis. have them on the e61 and will definately be putting them on the e92. the last 35% longer and far better in the wet.

I get mine from Wembley Tyres, I'd be expecting it to be around the same price as the Goodyears.
