Before and after I wrapped the front bumper reflectors. Extremely close color match to the glacier silver metallic paint (really can't ask for a better match using vinyl). Beats paying for color match painted reflectors to!

Hooked up the old dash cam today finally. Just an Aukey DR01, nice and cheap with no frills.

Tapped into the rain sensor power with a 12v to 5v converter hidden in the mirror housing. Can't see any wires due to top angled connection which is wedged between the headliner and glass. 2 Sided tape on the mirror to hopefully keep it from moving.

Will run it for a bit and see if the battery drains or cam angle needs adjusting but it looks pretty clean at first glance.

Edit: started getting the battery drain warning when it is -20C so I unplugged the cam for now. The rain sensor seems to run a couple minutes longer after the car is locked.

I upgraded from a 2014 335i M Sport to a 2017 M240i.

So far I've installed black Sideview mirror caps with sequential turn signals.

Tommy L Garage mud flaps. (Must have for F series cars!)

MST intake.

Next up is suspension. My 2 rear struts are leaking.
Debating between new struts with Dinan Springs with ride quality kit or coilovers.

Once the suspension is done I plan on doing MHD stage 1/2 and Remus exhaust.

Added Apple CarPlay and upgraded My Idrive from ID4 to ID6 along with some other small things like enhanced Bluetooth, and M Animation startup! Thanks to kubax86, it was a easy as can be and took only an hour. Fantastic modern update!

Did you remove the reflectors to wrap them?

I wrapped my roof gloss black, looks great with the sunroof, didn't remove the shark fin to wrap since I'm getting a carbon fiber piece that fits directly over it.

I'm considering this, but I was concerned how the rubber gasket trim would stand out with gloss back; it doesn't seem to be too bad. Did you wrap it yourself?

Installed an FTP charge pipe last week. Install went pretty smoothly, didn't need to remove the intercooler. Ended up having to cut the old CP out. The most difficult part was getting the new pipe onto the throttle body itself. I thought maybe the part wasn't made to spec. I lubed everything, cleaned the mating surfaces and it still took everything I had to get it seated so the C-clip would snap into place. Put about 400 miles on it and all is good.

PO had wrapped the roof and it wasn't holding up too well near the windshield so I pulled it off when I bought it. It's easy enough to do on a nice day with a heat gun and some elbow grease if you ever tire of the look. I left the antenna wrapped, not sure why but it doesn't bother me.

The gloss black definitely goes great with all the other black trim and gaskets on the car nothing looks out of place imo. And yes I did do it myself,( I work at a graphics shop installing vinyl everyday and have been trained by 3m etc) If you do it yourself I'd definitely recommend buying a roll of knifeless tape itll pretty much eliminate having to using a blade near your paint for the roof install. I'd also highly recommend removing the shark fin antenna, it's a lot harder to wrap around it and get a good outcome, and even harder to wrap the shark fin while it's on the car. Last piece advice would be to buy Avery Dennison gloss black vinyl it's by far the easiest to install especially on a roof. If you decide to do it just take your time and I have no doubt it'll come out great!

I miss the days when my front splitter still looked that good. I’m about to tackle another fudge-factor 10 fix with the heat gun and new fasteners this evening.

Careful with that thing! Car looks great.

As a first time owner of a white vehicle, I think this is exactly what I've been looking for!

You spray on, rinse, then proceed with your normal wash process?

Exactly. Give it a minute or two to do it's job before you rinse it off. And of course you should have a good wax or ceramic coating on the car.

Just got the car back from the detail shop where they put Xpel PPF on the front bumper and hood. Should have done this a year ago when I first got the car. Had to use a Dr Color Chip kit on the biggest rock chip and got it pretty flush, can hardly see it under the Xpel film. Very happy with the results.

a few things

My old driver's side mirror cap was broken and fell off, so yesterday I replaced both with an amazon CF pair for $100. Fitment was great and surprisingly its real carbon on top of an abs. I'm very pleased with it for the money, see if it holds up.. Lighting was bad so I had to use flash.

link to mirrors: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08H7D9Q92...t_details&th=1

Couple of days before I installed some Amazon shift paddles to replace the stock ones

...Anddddd the day before I installed the shift paddles I put on a set of 19" BC Forged RZ05s!!! 19x8.5 45et up front and 19x9.5 50et in the rear, i think they fit perfectly. No pics of them yet because I'm on stock suspension, but you can get a peek of them in the mirror cap images. Thanks to Wahooooman for the wheels!

Installed a VIOFO A119 V3 Dash Cam. Ran the cable between the windshield and the headliner and then in the rubber seal down the side to the ODB port as a power source. The ODB adapter has a switch that shuts off the power a few minutes after you turn off the engine. You can leave it on if you are running into a store, for example. No real visible wires and no hardwiring. I'm pretty happy with the install and so far no signs of battery issues. Name: IMG_3622.jpg

Started it up for the first time in 2022, drove to the inspection station to have it inspected for the first time (new cars in NJ have a 5 year inspection exemption), and drove away 10 minutes later with a new inspection sticker.

They did ask me to open the bonnet to visually verify it had a catalytic converter - the tech said the way it sounds he didn't think it had one.
