If you wanted one badly enough, you could probably find someone to make it for you.

It would be worth trying to find more participants for another round...the results are excellent. That would be the third group buy. I think I'm still the only 4 cylinder!? Unique!

I was in the VW/Audi world for a while and went through a lot of different cominbations of stiffer motor/transmission mounts. Most were too harsh for a daily. When I finally got it right (I think it was 034 street motor mounts with track transmission mounts), what a feeling!

I'm very excited to have received this kit, but won't be tackling the install myself so looking for some options.

Is this something people generally feel comfortable with BMW installing?

If not, anyone have shop recommendations in NY / Long Island area for this type of work?

Had the car on the lift to see what the SSK job will involve. Will get it installed another day.

Looks like the driveshaft, heat shield and possibly exhaust mid pipe are in the way to reach the linkage. Not really a quick in and out job.

I know a few people on here have had it done at bmw dealers. I would imagine you need to have a service advisor you trust to ask and get a reasonable price.

I have a few friends in NYC that I could ask if you hit a dead end.

The driveshaft doesn't have to be dropped, you can lower the center support bearing very easily which gives you more room. The exhaust can be lowered from the rear hangers, but doesn't need to be removed either.

The second one I did took under 2 hours. Let me know if you have any questions!

If there are items that need to be removed to install the SSK, is it a good idea to do some kind of maintenance or replacement during this time? I don't know what that would be, especially since my 2018 M240i vert has only less than 18k miles.

Not directly physically related to the installation, but at the same time, highly recommend replacing the trans fluid with Redline DCTF. Excellent improvement in shift quality that I didn't expect but tried based on other's recommendations...and they were right.

This! You'll thank him after. SSK + dctf = how we all wished they came from factory.

Everyone who bought the kit be prepared to fall in love with your car again

My SSK arrived this morning. Now to look for an independent service shop in my area; I think I've seen a recommendation to look for one in BIMRS. I'm trying to decide whether to have it installed right away or wait until my annual service, but this'll be in June next year. I'm not sure that I can wait that long.
