Just ordered a set of hyper black Arc-8s for a sunset orange car. 5mm spacers all around, but I didn't order extended nuts/studs. Should I? Or will I be fine with only 5mm?
I should pull a nut off and see how many threads are currently being used... |

I would not recommend running any sized spacer with the factory length hardware. To ensure there is enough thread through the hub of the car, extended lug bolts or studs will be required. Otherwise, you greatly increase your chance of overly stressing your wheel hardware. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. -Geirsen

Front: 18x8.5" ET35 or ET38 with 225/40-18 tires Rear: 18x9.5" ET58 with 255/35-18 tires -Available in ARC-8, EC-7, or EC-7R design only. -235/40-18 front tires can also be used, but we strongly suggest dialing in front negative camber to prevent rubbing. Amount of camber varies depending on tire brand and ride height. -18x8.5 ET45 wheels can be used up front instead of ET35. These wheels will require 5mm spacers but will fit a 235/40-18 more easily than the ET35 option. -265/35-18 rear tires may also be used, but may require 3mm or larger spacers, or trimming fender liner and shock dust boot. The higher offset requirements of the 1 & 2 series led us to produce these wheels. They will suit the tires you are looking to run as long as the above tire notes are followed. Please let us know if you have any other questions! Thanks again, -Tom

Sorry for the phone photos. We're in a heatwave in Vancouver, BC and I ran inside right after taking these. They are covered in brake dust and you can't really tell.

Looks great thanks! Definitely gonna go with that color. Just for the fact that it hides the break dust so easily 😇

Finally got mine and threw them on last weekend. Specs:
Hyper Black Arc-8, Sunset Orange car. Front are 18x8.5 et45 and rear are 18x9.5 et58. 5mm spacers all around with silver 33mm extended lug bolts. Threw the stock 225 40r18 and 245 35r18 tires back on, but will be going a tiny bit wider on future sets. I'll get more pictures later. |

Expert@ApexRaceParts Is there any difference in brake pad clearance between the 17x8.5 and 17x9?

Lastly, Our new 17x9 ET52 ARC-8 is running a new barrel design with better inner clearance, but this wheel will require wide front spacers if you are going to be running it as a square setup. -Tom

Fitment Check
Hello, been reading through many threads its a lot to take in with no experince in wheel fitment. I wonder if anyone has tried 245/40/18 on 18*8.5 et 35? I have an m240i x drive and Dinan lowering springs and want to do square setup.

Here is some additional information on that particular wheel fitment for the F22 2-Series chassis: Front & Rear: 18x8.5" ET35 with 225/40-18 tires -Typically a direct fit. Certain compounds that run wider-than-average may require front negative camber. -235/40-18 tires can be a direct fit, but we strongly suggest dialing in front and rear negative camber to prevent rubbing. Amount of camber varies depending on tire brand and ride height. -245/35-18 tires require at least 1.5 degrees of front negative camber, and 1.8 degrees of rear negative camber depending on tire brand and suspension setup. -255/35-18 tires require at least 2.2 degrees of front negative camber and 1.8 degrees of rear negative camber depending on tire brand and suspension setup. The 18x8.5" ET35 can provide a direct fit on a stock or lowered 2-Series with 225/40-18 or 235/40-18 tires at all four corners. A 245/40-18 is going to be a bit tall, so we actually recommend a 245/35-18 or even a 255/35-18 for a wider-tire alternative. With that said, anything wider than a 235/40-18 with these wheels will typically require some additional negative camber to fit without rubbing under suspension compression. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out! -Geirsen
