Sorry to revive an old thread like this but its closest one I could find to my problem.
I bought a 2017 (67) BMW M2 LCI last week and put some M4 seats into it (these had been retrimmed to Dakota Leather with Blue Stitching to match the rest of the car). Both cars had heated seats, electric adjusting with memory and both from Coupes so the seats have the buttons on the back of the seats to move them forward and back. I removed the seats from the M2 and put the M4 ones in (straight swap no changing anything) and there all working (adjustment/heating etc) apart from the buttons on the back of the seats. They don't do anything. I still have the old seats and will keep them until I sell the car and will swap them back over and sell the M4 seats on. Do I need to do anything specific for the M2 to get the to work as they worked on the original seats? Any help would be muchly appreciated Many thanks Anto |

All I know is that those back seat buttons only work if there's no one in the seat, so maybe if you had anything resting on it, it could trigger the sensor and disable control of the back seat buttons. I had it happen once with a container of food and it wouldn't roll forward.

Thanks for the reply.
Yeh I made sure there was nothing on the seats, the buttons just dont function. It might be the case that I remove the grey controller off the bottom of the original seats and move it to the M4 ones to see if it makes any difference. My only worry then would be when I plug it in the airbag firing if the wires are now crossed |

I was talking to mod_emporium about their kit and talking about maybe adding the wire from location 7 in the yellow socket to maybe the cigarette lighter plug in my armrest? They didn't think that would work. |

So curious. What method did you use to code the seats to your car. I found some seats and just want to make sure I don't have to deal with malfunction codes!

Who did you use for reupholstering them? I'm shopping about for some seats and a trusted place to do the work.
