Michelin PSS or PS4?
Hi guys,
Time to upgrade the tyres on my M235i. It seems like PSS is getting more difficult to source. I've been recommended the newer, cheaper PS4. What are your thoughts? Thanks A |

quite a few post on this in the Tire thread. Chris Harris said the PS4 transforms the M3.
I've had PSS and PS4, all great tires. Get the PS4 because it's the newer, greater available tire. But I liked the PSS a lot, thought it had a lot of personality. |

I opted for the PS4S when I got rims. Fantastic tire. 255 rear 225 front.

Mate, I put PS4s (r:255/30/19 f:225/35/19) on my M235 a few months ago and haven't looked back. They really are phenomenal tyres.

Keep in mind PS4 and PS4s are different tyres.
The PS4s is the new PSS, the PS4 is still a sporty tyre but 1 step lower than both the others. I've got PSS on my m240 and they pretty awesome, on track they could handle 5 laps of torture before letting go some grip due to the overheating. On my wife's Mini I got PS4 on, very very good on wet, less noisy but the tyre feels less direct than the PSS. These vid can be useful to decide PS4 - PS4s - CUP2 Comparison PS4s - SuperSports Comparison

Not sure, but I think the PS4s are the one that doesn't come in 18 with 225/40 and 245/35, or at least I couldn't find it, that's why I went for the PSS (I wanted something more than the PS4 for the occasional track day). That said the PSS is not a track tyre. As I'm planning to track more and more my car, so I'll get a second set of semislicks. For the rest of the driving probably the PS4 would be enough at least for me (metro driving, very few countryside drives)
