Diminished performance after first oil service
Hi.
A couple of days ago my M240i had it's first oil service at the dealer. They put 6.5 liters of oil and changed the oil filter. Didn't change the air filter because "the car doesn't need it yet" according to the BMW system... From the moment i drove away from the shop, i noticed diminished performance of the car (acceleration, revving speed, among others). What could be the cause of that ??? Too much oil added? Incorrect viscosity oil ??? What are your thoughts ? Last edited by AlexM240i; 06-03-2017 at 04:57 PM.. |

The incorrect viscosity of the oil (too thick) can cause this ??? |

If they bent the exhaust on the bottom of the car crimping the tubes restricting exiting exhaust? And no check engine light ? |

I don't know if oil viscosity could be the cause of your problems but don't assume the dealer gave you the right viscosity. My dealer put in 5w30 in my engine when they should have used 0w20. I only caught their mistake after looking closely at the invoice. Lesson learned... don't assume anything and question everything.
