So my M4 sound sounds nothing like how all the other M4 asd videos I've seen. I will post comparison videos later between my default n55 sound and s55 sound 8j comparison to a 228i video with M4 sound, a 235i video.with M4 sound, an f30 with M4 sound, and an actual M4 sound and you will see all videos except mine will be similar.

I was following this thread with interest because I could swear there is no Active Sound in my 2015 M235i at all. Even changing modes between Comfort and Sport doesn't change the engine/exhaust sound in the smallest. And I must tell you that if I'm wrong and I do have artificial sound in my car, it's very poorly programmed cause it's not nice at all; sometimes I'd even say it's droning
My other car - the Golf R - is another story; the active sound is so prominent (in Race mode particularly) that one cannot have any doubts. What's interesting is they (VW) aren't using the audio speakers for that; the resonator uses entire windshield as the AS "speaker diaphragm"!

We get the idea but don't bother. The fact we can code a change is a good thing. If the M6 sounds best, then go for the one you like the best. Its like adding a toping at the yogurt stand, it only changed the taste so much. |

I think the M3 and M5 ASD are too much overwhelming but the last one in the list, the 3liter diesel (B57D30 = 0F) has a nice warm not too overwhelming sound (to enhance the sound from a B49 X1 2.5d original equipped ASD) Is there a possibilty to buy a certain device (to use on my X1 B49 2.5d xdrive 2015) to be able to play with all these settings using an normal laptop? (so i don't have to go to a garage all the time and ask them to change the code) thx again for the big help |

Seem like BMW got pissed off at people messing with it and disabled it through firmware itself... so M4 sounds it's disabled on the latest i-steps but i believe you can still disable ASD through coding if you want it. Check your i-step and see how old it is http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...postcount=1403 if you have a 2014 it should work, unless you got your i-step flashed by the dealer Last edited by pikcachu; 03-08-2016 at 09:46 PM.. |

As far as drone goes, Are you sure you're not confusing drone with constant positive power. Ie going down the freeway at a steady speed. Sports cars typically are tuned so that you always know what your engine speed is doing. I personally wouldn't want it any other way. I like to hear the engine and exhaust. If I didn't I'd drive a Kia or Prius. I'm not arguing with ya, just food for thought. Everyone's perception is different. Hondas with crappy fart cans drone. A BMW? I'm not so sure. |

M235i active is not working
How do I enable active sound if it's not working from the beginning?
I created a separate thread with my issue http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showt...&highlight=ASD |
