Strange Tracking Question

I will update the Order tracking section when i figure this out.

On 5/26, my 330i Arrived at the Charleston dock, automated 800 number said "Your vehicle is in Transit"

on 5/27, the automated 800 number said "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." I freaked out, thinking that the car was still in Bremerhaven. I called BMW NA and they told me that by 'shipping vessel' they meant a semi truck. They also said that most VPCs are at the port itself, so that the car had more than likely gone through the VPC already. I patiently waited.

on 5/28, automated 800 number said "Your vehicle is in Transit" so i assumed it was on the truck heading to my dealer.

However, today, 6/1, the automated 800 number says "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel."

Back to square one and very confused. I'm not sure at this point whether the car ever made it to the VPC, or is done with the VPC and waiting for the truck, or is literally on a truck headed to my dealer.

Anyone who has experience with this part of the process please advise.

Thanks in advance.

ncoutinho, I remember the OC saying my car was "in transit" but the 1800 number said, just like yours, it's at the port waiting for transport. I only called the 800 number every once and a while, so I don't remember it going backwards, like the way you said it did, but I have a feeling your car is right on time. I got worried when the 800 number said at the port when the OC said in transit, but the car came in right on time, just the same. Good luck.

Sharp; did the OC or the 800 number ever say that it was at the VPC? Mine hasn't yet.
Thanks.

Garage List
You know what, you can always talk to a live agent on that 800 number; they have the most up-to-date tracking info, just ask them where your car is at.

Hey LWL: I did, but they said they could give me no information once the car leaves Germany.

Hey trust me, the car is more than worth the painful wait. But you're right, their tracking really sucks once it gets off the ship. Bavarian Motor Transportation drives the cars around the US to dealers and from my understanding, doesn't really give dealers much info on where and when the trucks leave from or arrive.

apparently the trucks just show up and unload cars at the dealer, not great.
