Think roof rack is only option at the moment, pretty sure I saw that the 1-series one fits our cars. I had a Saris Solo that scratched my old car up I'd stay away from trunk mount as awesome as that one was.

If you go roof route check the high roller carrier from Yakima to use w your BMW load bars. Best / easiest I have seen.

If you've got shoulder or back issues and roof isn't a viable option you could give this a shot. Looks easy to load but only does one bike, is stupid expensive and requires some sort of adhesive?!?!

I'd probably hold out for a tow hitch kit and go that route instead.

Bike rack went on today to make sure it all fits etc. the five sits quite far forward and it's a bit scary having a bike on the roof but it feels sturdy enough!

let the rack on for work tomorrow just to see what noise is like on the motorway but will keep it off unless it's being used normally.

What rack are you using for the bikes? that looks pretty nifty, do you think it will fit a mountain bike?

I just ordered my m235i and need to get a working set up pretty quickly so I dont use the trunk.
