I will be heading to bertil roose friday night so I bought tickets to see the movie up there in the poconos. They have something like imax in the theater so it will be nice to see/hear that M23 on a big screen.

It should be a great movie.

Definitely talk to him about getting your competition license. It's a full Regional SCCA license that you'll get.

Oops! My bad. I'll let him know.

Those F2000 cars are a BLAST!!! If you feel the back end getting lose - just give it some throttle and the weight transfers to the back end and bam, the grip is back! I saw so many people loop the cars around because they hit the brake once it started to let go. They are really easy to catch too. Much more progressive than a cart.

Yeah im excited to see how much the aerodynamics help from very little downforce of the formula ford car. They said they run an intermediate rain tire the whole time so at 8 am in 50 degree weather im sure the back will break loose plenty. Thanks for the heads up, im hoping I can carry a lot more speed into the corners with the front wing.

Yes, you definitely feel the downforce. I was at VIR in April and it was actually snowing when we were on the track! Very cold, but the tires do come up to temp after a couple laps and are more progressive and give more grip. When they're cold, it's definitely lose.

Awesome, glad to hear, regardless I would have fun pushing it and sliding around. How could you not have fun in an open wheel, manual, 1200lb car.

Also, when pushing in the clutch, watch your shin on the steering rack. I crushed mine the first time I pushed in the clutch - huge gash/bruise on my shin!
When shifting, don't try to "push" it or "finesse" it into gear - just ram it as hard as you can. The shifter mechanism isn't that great - can be lose and vague, so just punch it as hard as you can into gear and you'll be fine.

Those were the biggest issue of getting used to the cars. One of the guys didn't drive manuals at all (knows how to, but drives a 458 on the street and tracks a Radical V8 - I know, tough life) and he wasn't fast because he just couldn't get the heel-toe or the hang of working the shifter.

great thanks again for the tips on these things. The FF had the same vw 4 speed and it took a couple throws to get the feel. I thought my bmw perf ssk was tough to get into gear...
