Doesnt matter where you bought it. Could even be private sale. BMW still covers it if it falls under the warranty issue.

Keep in mind that the BMW NA (US) warranty on this is different from BMW UK, but if the car is under the Approved Used warranty, you shouldn't have any problems - I had mine changed under the extended Insured warranty with no fuss. Just expect to be without the car for a couple of days!

Which dealer did you use to get yours changed? I am also in Enfield and my waste gates are rattling like mad

What exactly is this wastegate rattle issue? When does it happen and what does it sound like?

BMW's process for changing the turbos involves removing the engine from the car, so the dealer needs to know what they're doing. I only use Sytner Chigwell these days - I had some bad experiences with Stephen James when I first bought the car so I don't trust them with things like this.

I had my turbos removed and wastegates adjusted in first few months of having my Mar 07. Sure they didn't remove engine. Only comments were for Wastegate actuator being below spec diameter and replaced waste gate actuator and reset using vacuum.

You can replace the actuators without removing the turbos. I'm sure it's possible to change the turbos without removing the engine too, but I think it's quicker to drop the subframe, so that's what BMW tell them to do.
