Question about the 06 325
< Asking for a Friend >
He's planning to buy a BMW and he saw a 2006 BMW 325ix(navi and all those goodies) with 2500 km's, it's a sedan, downside is that there was a dent and was repaired by bmw canada(not really sure the extensive damage is) For under $38 000 or under(Canadian Dollars) What do you think of the 325 overall? It's only got 215HP...and how's the "deal" on the car? Or just any opinions/information about the 325 is appreciated TIA TIA |

This car new should be close to $50,000 depending on what "all the other goodies" means in terms of how it is optioned.
So in a 2 year span, the asking price represents a depreciation of approximately 23%. The average first year depreciation of a car should be closer to 30% even without an accident. And this is assuming I am right on the price and that the actual price when new was not lower than CAN$50,000. Therefore I would suggest simply from a financial perspective that the deal does not sound great. Especially since the model is superseded now by the 328 (even bigger hit on the depreciation table). Otherwise I had an e90 325 and have nothing but good things to say about it. With 215hp and the xdrive the car will not win any accelration contests, but there more than adequate power there for normal everyday use. The xdrive is extremely effective and efficient and the car has not had any major reliability issues.
