In a straight line drag race, quite possibly.

In real world driving (overtaking, in-gear stuff) undoubtedly - the low-rev (almost lazy) power delivery of the 335 will allow you to spank it up the road easier then a rev hungry V8 with 65% of the torque.

Around a track - not really - 335 lacks the traction that the RS4's 4wd system and the M3's trick M-diff delivers.

This is just my opinion, on the basis of what I've read - I have not driven the new M3 or a remapped 335d (althiugh I have driven an RS4).

Agreed, but tweek the suspension and stick an LSD on it and there would be nothing in it

Nick says his re-mapped 335d isn`t as quick in a straight line as his friends CSL, so the new M3 and RS4 I would expect to walk it.

It might not be so quick but it sure is going to give them a bit of a surprise off the lights!

Only in the brochure - arrives 21st September.

Makin do with my e46 330 M Sport at the mo.

As it goes back to the leasing company in 2 months I am having a bit of fun in it!

PS If anyone sees a 330 M Sport black saph going through the auction in September beware - it could be mine!
