What is this piece that broke off my car?

Hi Guys,

I was making a right turn into a tunnel and hit a bit of a bump and then I hear a pop. Next thing I know, there is a piece dangling down next to my front left suspension. I was only a block away from my house so I decided to just drive it back to my garage to have a better look, but as I was backing into the garage the piece snapped and broke in half.

What is this and where can I get a replacement? How much would the job cost or could this be a DIY? I looked it up and it might be the control arm? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!!!

or the tension strut....

That beefy swaybar broke your oem end link. I would consider a higher quality aftermarket end link or its going to snap again.

Do ou have aftermarket sway bars? They look awfully big is the picture, but that does look like the endlink to them, check the other side and see. Upgrade time if so. That sucks.

Yeah, they're Dinan sway bars. Just had a mechanic friend come by and looked at it and he confirmed that it is the sway bar end link. Any suggestion on what to upgrade it to? Thanks for all the quick responses!

Does anyone know if the endlinks on the 2007 e92 is the same as the 2008 e92s? I'm looking to purchase this one:
