valentine vs. escort

so which one would you guys recommend?
i know i've asked few times but here's the q:
the escort is $100 more expensive, but seems worth it.
thanks.

p.s. if anyone is willing to sell theirs for a cheap price, let me know

I personally like and have the Escort 9500iX just because it has GPS built in and remembers all the false alarms. It has saved me countless amounts of times and has paid itself off in the first 3 months.

That said, some people swear by their V1's and say that there is nothing that beats those arrows.

To me, I don't care where the signal is coming from... If that thing starts going off, I'm stomping the brakes if I'm going over the speed limit.

Regardless of which one you get, contact us so we can hardwire it to your car for a ultra clean/stealth look

But my vote is for Escort. I'm sure you'll see that Valentine is definitely the more popular choice though.

The valentine is the winner, always top two on the radar tests. Just bought one too and people swear by the arrows, def can see those arrows coming in handy and its upgradeable for life, no planned obsolescence.

I have the Escort 9500ix on my e92 xi (WI) and my pop's has the v1 on his 996 turbo(Cali), though the arrows are nice, the false alarms on the v1 drive me up the walls! Especially if you live in the city like LA. When we go back in April to visit my folks, the Porsche is usually my loaner car while I'm there and I'll turn the V1 off and bring my escort along. LoL. Like Dmitriy said, I don't care where the signal is coming from. Once it goes off, I'm slowing down. Plus I love my red light camera feature for those yellow light situations.

V1 FTW!

I always wanted to do a classic E90post message like the above.

But in all serious, V1 is great. Saved me again this weekend.

i have a v1, the arrows are fun. you can also program it to ignore x radar which is basically all the false alerts.

i read somewhere about how the gps feature on escorts are too wide of an area. so if a cop knows about these 'false' areas they can sit in the zone and basically be ignored by anyone with an escort. who really knows tho ?

both are top notch pick one and call it a day

This isn't correct. The radar records the info on the false signal by storing latitude/longitude info down to the millimeters. If another cop is standing in the same position as the signal, it will still go off - I've tested this out in Brooklyn, on the Belt Pkwy, by Knapp Street.

Besides the false alarms aren't stored into a national database, that is only for red light alerts and speed cameras, all the false alarms are stored to each individual unit. There is no way a cop can find out about the "false" spots unless he hacks THAT unit - which I don't see happening.

V1 FTW! Had mine for about a year now and I love it...saved me numerous times...worth every penny. Only thing I do wish it had is the red light camera sensor like the escort

im aware that there not stored on a national database. but if a cop had access to any radar detector or some common sence he could sit near a traffic signal or a set of stores where thes typically 'false' alerts.

i may be wrong but i dont see how a radar detector could detect exactly where a source is coming from down to a millimeter

I have the Escort Passport 8500 (red) its like $45.00 for the blue one, so your paying extra for the blue LED lights. It was $300.00 for the radar, $100.00 cheaper then the V1. i love this radar, i think its great. its fully programmable to your driving needs, and also has a advanced display that shows how strong of a reading its getting. For example it will show K KA X on the radar and next to you each one it will have a bar showing how strong that signal is for that radar. i also bought the hard-wire kit for it that you can buy at best buy for $40.00 and it has a mute button that you can mount where you want.

stores and traffic lights generally are a different band than radar guns.

With that said....V1 no questions asked. Saved me NUMEROUS times.
