Snow snow go away :(
So up here in Newcastle its still snowing around 7 inches a night and the temperature is around -9 where I live. So sick of it all now, all week I’ve been parking my car in a bus stop at the bottom of hill entering my street, its not on. No gritting at all. Final after a good push from a few neighbours and half an hour later got it on my drive for the weekend. Also yesterday I was walking around the front my car to get into it after work and slipped on the ice and fell.... put my arm out to save my self and ended up denting the bonnet with my arm totally cheesed off with the weather now.
Photo from my window........ I need a 200 banger to get around |

I have not seen any snow yet down here, I lie - actually we had about 2 cm's the other day which melted within a few hours ...... I wouldn't mind actually seeing some to be honest - I feel left out

I'm just down the road from Newcastle in Durham and we've had snow on the ground for three weeks here, one layer ontop of the other. Getting a bit bored of it now to be honest though, got things to be doing!!! Fortunately on my estate getting back on the drive is the easy part. Getting out of the street on the other hand isn't quite so easy.

Yep it's getting really annoying! I reversed out my drive on Wednesday after a night of heavy snow, and got stuck in the middle of the road
After much effort rocking back and forth on the clutch I managed to move forward/down the road so 2 wheels were up the kerb and 2 on the road. Then had to go and get a spade out the garage and spend 30 mins digging snow from around it, and finally I got moving (luckily my road is on a slope leading to a main road otherwise the car would have been no use for some time) I've had to get pushed up hills quite a few times on the way to and from work as well, and although I'm thankful for the people who push, I'm a bit worried I'm going to have dents in the boot lid! Can't wait till it all melts now! On the plus side snowy roundabouts are a lot of fun

My M hasn't been off the drive now for about 8 weeks partly because I don't have the time to drive the thing and now I can't work because of the low temps I still can't drive it
up for sale soon I think . |

Yep Teesside is the same. We got 5 inches of the stuff last night. My car has been in garage now for 2 weeks. Totally sick.
Sick of getting up at the crack of dawn to battle into work in wifes Toyota, but its the only way to avoid the idiots on the road...... On a good note, at least we are all OK. Some people have died in this fucking snow..... |

Well it snowed again here in East Yorks this morning and there is now a substantial amount of snow. Main roads are still bad and no gritting but then any heavy snowfall will wash the grit away.
I haven't stopped using the car as my route to work is all main roads although our street is BAD but the S5 drives through the snow easily. East Riding council have given us another grit bin to be fair. The Porka T would have got through it as well being AWD but I know from bitter experience having got ceremoniously stuck in the Cayman S last February, that RWD and summer tyres are just an absolute nightmare!! |

Same here in Germany, i havent driven my car for 4 weeks. The main roads last night were totally clear of snow (German efficiency!) so i decided to give it a run out as it had been sat undriven too long for my liking. All i had to do was get the car down my street (100m to the main road).
I reversed it out of the garage and it got stuck - couldnt even get it back into the garage! After 15 mins of digging and messing around 2 passing Germans gave me a push and i got it back into the garage. Locked it back up and realised what a failure i was, i had managed to move 10m total in 20mins |

Haven't driven my bimmer since the third week in October. I'm relying on a 14 year old 4Runner to get me about which gets me through. However, a 4X4 isn't a guarantee I'll make it from A to B.

Steve has driven through a foot of snow in his Series Landy across the Golf Course and it just ploughed through it. It is on the original skinny and A/T tyres at the mo so masses of ground clearance. |

Well, if it's there and I'm here, it's very difficult for me to drive it.

Weather is causing me mega problems, I cant get my 3'er out the garage, all my monoblock has raised up and the garage doors wont open, my fridge is out there aswell with all my beer in it. Luckly I have an Astra diesel I run about in aswell, thats been good so far (touch wood) but i just wish it would get a bit mild so i can get my garage open and stuff.

Because my E90 is useless in the snow and has basically been on the drive since before Christmas, I have been using the other halfs VW Golf to get about.
Im now starting to get grief that perhaps I should think about getting a different type of car!!
