Windscreen washer not working - Is it the obvious?

When I lift the stick for the windscreen washer, I'm getting nothing - no water, no noise and no wiper action. Does anyone have any ideas? If it was frozen I would still expect the wipers to activate or am I wrong? (Washer is topped up)

What temperature is it in Glasgow? -8 or -10 degrees?

Think you may know the answer already?

-4 degrees about 1/2 hour ago. Would you not expect the wipers to activate even if the washer was frozen?

The wipers should work... you might have a fault there!

I've got a very high strength mix in my washer bottle in preparation for the cold, but forgot to draw some through before it froze. Had to wait for the lines to thaw before I could get anything through. Ok now.

I'm wondering if these baltic conditions can cause further issues with wipers?

Even when my car is frozen if I hold down the wiper stalk my wipers will still move. However on my gf's Mini the wipers started to move then stopped half way and haven't done anything since.

Can -8 conditions cause such mechanical freezing maybe!?

Yes, sounds like the motor has seized in the cold. Have you got some deicer spray? Try squirting a bit around the base of the wiper on the scuttle panel
