Increased top speed limiter on M-sport 335i?

I looked around but can't find what did they increase the speed limiter to? Sport package is at 155mph, so how much more for M-sport? Got a friend at work who topped his sport package e90 335i at 153mph for few minutes, and is mad (not really) that BMW ripped him of 2 miles. He did it at the German autobahn with no speed limit before someone says he's crazy. I've seen cars drive faster than that here before.

150-155mph. M-Sport is nothing more then trim upgrades. No performance or suspension changes.

That's what I said, plus he didn't get oil cooler with it since it was first batch of e90 335i. I told him to be careful and not overheat it.

I asked since I see people posting the "NO CHARGE - Increased top speed limiter" when they list their options ordered on M-sport.

The top speed is 150 mph. He can consider himself lucky he gets to 153 mph. I'm always cut off right at 150 mph . With cruise control it allows 151 mph... M-Sport is purely cosmetic.

Probably because it is a feature included in the Sport Package that cannot be ordered as a standalone option.

Why don't you go back and read it again. I said it was my friend at work who pushed the car to the speed limiter, and I was being sarcastic about him not getting those last 2 miles.

When I first came to Germany, I was like these Germans drive their cars like it's a racetrack on the autobahn. 100mph here in Germany is like our 60mph in States. 100mph is my average speed to work daily, and I'm in the right lane getting passed. Plus they move over for another car going or flying at them to the right (it's actually a law) and no passing in the right lane.

False. All non-M cars are limited to a maximum of 150 mph. M cars are limited to 155 mph, which can be increased with special sport packages.

Yes, something about you having to have a race license to get the limiters raised (for the M Cars).

speedometers are not that as accurate at those speeds. I hit 210 in a Ford GT and the gps read 200 even to give you an example. the faster you go the more variation there will be
