50:50 weight distribution is a trademark of all BMW cars
now, by looking at this pic....i wonder how BMW makes the E90 50-50

anyone?

The battery. RWD brings a lot of kgs to the rear end(axle/transmission) The engines(especially the 4 potters) are situated almost behind the front axle(making it almost a mid engine so to speak) etc etc

And it's better to sit on the backseat while driving the damn thing to get a better 50/50 feel

Most of the engine is actually sitting behind the front wheels. Thats why the front wheels are so far forward. There have been some minor additions/changes such as the battery in the rear to help balance it out...

Looking at the picture, the heavy transmission/differential is within the wheel axles. As you recall our lightweight magnesium-aluminum engine exists to maintain the 50:50 as well. Couple that with liberal use of aluminum for various subframe, chassis and suspension bits and you get the general idea of how they pulled it off. Jury's still out on how our fat asses effect BMW's 50:50 distribution irl
