2022 M240i XDrive Preventative Maintenance
Hey guys, I recently bought a 2022 M240 with ~37K miles. It's now at 40K, and I'm unsure what to do, preventative maintenance-wise. From my quick research, from what I understand, I should do spark plugs and coil packs in the near future(~5k miles), upgrade coolant hoses to metal, and just keep an eye on my coolant.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated! |

Welcome to the addiction.
Don't worry about the plugs or coils. They seem to be fine until 80K to 100k. Change the oil every 6k miles or so. Buy oils will the BMW LL01 or LL04 certifications only. Buy only a MANN oil filter as filters from Fram, etc. as aftermarket filters aren't up to the task. If the car has an automatic, change the fluid and filter every 50k to 60k miles. If it's manual, change the fluid every 50k miles or so. On a weekly basis drive the for 30+ miles at highway+ speeds. Doing so will get all fluids up to operating temperature. Coolant should be replaced every 3 years with BMW coolant and distilled water. The hoses are usually good for 100k miles. Two good websites: FCP Euro for parts www.realoem.com for part numbers. Enter in the last 7 characters of your car's VIN and hit enter. Bookmark the page. |
