Fuse 77 keeps blowing when opening trunk (E91 LCI)

Hi!
Since the last weekend I have been trying to figure out why the Fuse 77 keeps blowing in my 2009 E91. Looks like the problem is coming from the trunk because the fuse gets blown whenever I open it.
I checked rear compartment bulbs, they seemed fine. Whenever I open the trunk, the bulbs come on for a split second and then the fuse blows out.
I have read that there might be some wiring issues. But does anyone know how serious might be the issue and perhaps has had a similar problem? Any help will be much appreciated

I don't know the fuse #, but the symptoms you mention point to bad wiring in the hatch. Google E91 hatch wiring fix or diversity antenna wiring and you'll see the problem and the fix. Not an awful job, but a hassle for sure.

F77 supplies power to rear Cargo Area Lights, as well as Glovebox & IHKA. As "Strada" suggests, you likely have a broken wire/insulation on wire going to Tailgate Latch, which triggers Cargo Lights. There are numerous threads on repair of broken wires inside looms at upper Hinge Plane. If wiring or other help is needed, please provide Last-7 of VIN.
