just saw that.... it also says 3/23 for U11 X1. (while it's 1/23 for almost all the BMW models) Does that mean the increase only applies to X1 production starting from 3/23?

I guess this is consolation to early buyers that may have wanted features not offered then but are now.

Production is expected in January. When asked about the 3/23 date on the MSRP increase sheet, they said that January production meant delivery in March, so the $500 increase was correct. |

the BMW sales manager said that when the BMWUSA's Regional Product Trainer(not even sure what that means) visited them on Friday, he mentioned that the full real leather seat option might be available as soon as late February production. Real leather seats was always available in German and most parts of the world... not sure why they left out that option for the US. Not enough cows could be slaughtered? My family has two X1 on order, both January production. Not sure if we want to cancel and wait another month to place the orders again for February production in order to get leather seats. |

Using their logic, a car built last month, but stuck somewhere in the system, and not delivered until March would have the additional $500 tacked on. ETA: I just checked with my CA and he confirmed that as long as my order is in production by March I don't get hit by the price increase. Last edited by tgmorris99; 12-06-2022 at 09:30 AM.. |

"Dear customer, due to the shortage of vital parts, your X1 production will unfortunately be delayed until March 2. Thank you for your understanding in this difficult time for everybody. By the way, please send extra $500 to your ordering dealer" Don't think that can happen? My home builder tried that stunt on me last year. Fortunately, I got my best friend's daughter(just fresh out of law school) to write them a very "nice" letter explaining my intention to seek legal action. They "cancelled" the fake delay and didn't ask me for the $27,000 extra money. They were building over 200 new house and I couldn't imagine how many people just ponied up the extra $27,000 without giving it a second though. |

too bad very few current BMW models can command $15,000 to $20,000 markup like the Honda Civic Type- R. My idiot friend did just that. Ok, maybe he's an idiot with money to throw around? When he lets me drive it for a few days, I will stop badgering him for having paid $16500 markup to get his Civic. I was more offended when he demanded that we take off our shoes to get into his new Civic. Am I the only one who thinks it's crazy to pay almost $70,000 for a Civic, even if it's a fast one? |

so my BMW dealer is nice and decent by having a giant sign that says "We never sell above MSRP!"??? Or do they just not like money?

The BMW dealer here is pretty much the only dealer on the island that ISN'T charging a markup. Toyota here is run by Servco though, who deal directly with Toyota of Japan and have an exclusive contract with them. It's why our RAV4's are imported from Japan and not made in the US like most of the 48 states (is what I've been told). They do have a markup, but it's about $1,000-$1,500 across all models, and that was for years now, not just because demand is crazy. I briefly considered a GR Corolla but I think I may be getting too old for that to be my daily driver.
