X1 Delivered

Picked up my wife's vehicle yesterday. Vehicle was delivered exactly as ordered i.e. no missing options. There's definitely no lumbar, but if you ordered the sports seats you should be fine. I've had lumbar in all my bmw's and the sport seats in this vehicle are really quite comfortable, IMO. Big step up for her coming from an '18 x1.

Couple of quick pics attached, nothing fancy.

Yeah, she loves it so far! Definitely a big improvement over her previous model.

I know this is a random question but since I'm also in Ontario I was wondering if you could let me know how much you paid in freight and PDI?

I'm asking because this is our first time buying a BMW and I feel our dealership charged a fairly large amount, especially compared to other brands. I'm not sure if that's normal or not. (Not that it matters much now that the deal is done). :-)

Your SUV looks awesome. I can't wait for ours. It's the first time in 20+ years of buying new cars that I'm genuinely excited.

thx.

Freight was $1295, which has been steady for the last ~10 years or so at bmw. Frankly, seems cheap considering the vehicle came from Germany i.e. train, ship, train, car carrier. Lots of fuel & labor in between. PDI is $1395. Again, been the same price for years. Whether it's worth it or not, I'll leave to others to discuss.

Our order/delivery time was quite short considering everything that's going on with supply chain, Europe etc. Her car was ordered mid-September, delivered November 24. She loves it so far.

$1395 PDI.... is that something only Canadian BMW dealers charge?

As far as I know, that's been their PDI cost for ages. Could be wrong. No doubt others will chime in one way or the other. I've paid that exact fee for years on my other BMW's.

One thing of note, car was ordered loaded (but no m-sport/paddles...not something she wanted), but was surprised to see the the built-in cam system was free/unlimited. No signup fee, monthly or annual fee. I've heard other regions having to pay, i.e. X3 & x5 forums....

Thanks for that info, I appreciate it. I knew our dealership was way too expensive at 4K (combined). They said it was non-negotiable.

It's easy to give a discount to a customer when you inflate those types of numbers so the price of the car is already inflated before the lame game starts.

I can't wait for car purchases to change to direct customer ordering like Tesla. Apparently Volvo is going that way as well.
