What is the max size (in cm/mm) of a battery that fits in an e93 LCI?

I'm not asking about how many Ah fits, I would like to know what the hole size is of an e93 LCI, so for instance if an 353x175x190 fits?

I don't know anything about HOW batteries are advertised or sold in The Netherlands, so the following describes US.
H8 or Group 49 is the LARGEST battery that will fit in E9x models. I'm NOT aware of any reason why E93 is different from E91 in that regard. E93 is more difficult to change battery in than other E9x Chassis, due to top causing issues with access to battery well.

Batteries are sold by case size and Terminal Orientation (you don't want (+) & (-) Terminals reversed, or on wrong side of case. The E9x battery has (+) terminal Forward on Outboard side as mounted. Ah or CCA ratings are "Electrical" ratings (Amp-hours & Cold-Cranking Amps), and while they have SOME relationship to case size, that is NOT their primary purpose.

E9x models have several different threaded holes in the Battery Well Floor for the Rear Hold-down Clamp, to accommodate H8, H7, H6 case sizes, and hold them in place. The following is an example of H8 Battery ($40 more than 3 years ago ;-):
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Exide-SP...-49/308488577?

Electrically-speaking, you want to make sure you know what the (1) Battery Type (FLA vs. AGM) and (2) Amp-hour Rating (Battery Capacity) SETTING is in your CAS module, and replace with SAME Type/Capacity. Otherwise, you may need to change ("Code") the CAS module setting to properly match your replacement battery Type/Capacity.

INPA (free BMW Factory-Level Diagnostic Software) will tell you what that Setting is. For those with INPA, the "Menu Path" is:
INPA > DME > F5 Status > F5 PM (Power Management) > F3 PM Info Field 2
If "Battery Capacity" Ah value does NOT say "AGM", the setting is for FLA.

Thanks for your info but I already knew all those things besides the max size. H8 seems to be 315mm. I'm pretty certain the battery size I mentioned (353) might fit, because I've found a battery and bookmarked it about 2 years ago. Are you absolutely 100% sure a 353mm will not fit?
BTW where I live they don't do H# sizes, but I looked it up and H9 seems to be 395mm. So I don't know what the battery I'm looking at is, (H8,5?) but I'm just wondering about that size, that's all.

Edit: wow a different site says H8 is 354mm.
That's why I was wondering what the maximum size is in mm/cm. That H# spec is not very clear.

This site says H8 is 315mm:
https://carsaxle.com/h7-vs-h8-battery-size/

This site says H8 is 354mm:
https://batteryquery.com/h8-vs-h9-battery/

Sorry I didn't "do the math" previously, but the Exide ad I linked states 14-inch length. That converts to 355.6 millimeters. I have NO IDEA how accurate that "14-inch" spec is in the ad. I've always bought batteries by "H" or "Group" spec, and NOT by inches or millimeters.

Kinda-like putting measurement specs on a loaf of bread to make sure it will fit in your "Bread Box" (as if we still had bread boxes). Are you saying there is NO "Standardization" of Battery Case Size in EU/Netherlands?

Nope in the netherlands everything goes my actual dimensions. I was thinking of putting this in, that's why:

https://www.accudienst.nl/p71452/varta-g14-accu.html

As you can see, no H8/Group 49 marking or anything like that.

Also I'm not allowed to visit your home depot link from the Netherlands apparently, gives an error.

Strange, I'm able to see your VARTA link (even though I don't speak German/Dutch ;-).
Since "Seeing is Believing", see the attached ScreenPrint of the Home Depot Exide H8/Group 49 Specs. 353-355 mm should FIT.
One Inch = 25.4 mm; at least that works in US.

Found another site that seems to say the same:

https://bmwbatteryfinder.com/best-ba...nvertible-e93/

13.9” x 6.89” x 7.48”
354 x 175 x 190 mm

I guess I'll order and try, already saw it's gonna be real not easy to change it in the e93, but it has to happen someday (10 years old, getting the increased battery discharge warning).

BTW this is the correct orientation right?:

Correct. Attached is a photo of the Rear Power Distribution Panel (on top of battery) on my 3/2007 build E91 (easy to get to ;-)

The H8/Group 49 Battery uses Entire length of Battery Well. Rear Hold-Down Bolt is in Rear-most threaded hole in floor.
When Replacing Battery, be careful NOT to damage BST (Battery Safety Terminal) Connector or IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor).
I would ALSO recommend opening the covers of the "Transfer Points" and inspecting for any Rust (2nd photo attached).

Thank you, ordered. I'll see if I can get it under there, seems to not be very easy on an e93.

Sure, also Hamilton was almost as good as Max this year.

Maximum allowed battery size dimensions are:
H6: 278x175x190
H7: 315x175x190
H8: 354x175x190

However, some manufactures may make it a tiny bit smaller.
For example, actual Odyssey Performance specs are
H6 - 277x175x188
H7 - 315x175x188
H8 - 353x175x188

Dx11 - if your E93 is diesel, try to fit H8 AGM
My E90 335d came with FLA H6 (from last owner) and it sucks.

It arrived.
It fits.

I still have increased battery discharge warnings on the new battery (after driving with it for an hour then parking it for 10 minutes).
Damn, guess I'll open a new thread for this.

- did you register new battery?
- 1h drive is good, but one-time full charge could help too

Yes I registered it and saw confirmation this was the first swap (2012 my).

I don't have an AGM charger.
Also when starting the first time on the new battery it give me a low voltage warning, it doesn't do that anymore now, only the high discharge warning + no keyless.
