To flush or not to flush...
Ok, so I had a leaky rocker cover gasket...i've now replaced it, the car is also due an oil change.
I had to leave the rocker head exposed (I covered it with plastic to ensure no debris or shit could get in) everything was still nicely covered in oil. So i'm sure it's all good. However as the cars due an oil change, should i throw a tin of Wynns engine flush in there before i do so? Engines done just over 80k miles. Will it do more harm than good? I'm reading things that say you shouldn't do it to new engines as it'll spin bearings etc? |

Engine flush in general on a modern engine is a bad idea, there are too many issues in damaging tight tolerance bearings due to not having the right oil viscocity due to the dilution effect of the flush. There also shouldn't be any deposits to flush that the proper synthetic oil hasn't already prevented.

Just do a regular oil change and you're good. The filtration system is already doing what you want the flush to do.
