Tail lights have already been done.

https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1850588

I can’t see why the front couldn’t be retrofitted. A few things to consider, the LCI no longer comes with fog lights, so you might have different electrical connections. You’ll also need a new grill as the grill is bigger on the LCI. The headlights are also smaller in size on the LCI so not sure if this would effect the front wings and bonnet?
Also the grill is no longer an active grill, so it might throw some warnings on the dash that it’s not connected?

Sounds like too much cost and hassle to do the front to me.

As far as I understand, the bonnet and wings are the same.
Also, there is still an active grille.

Sorry I was thinking of the M40i which went from active to M style 2 slat grill for the LCI. Still a different shape though.

It's true, the LCI models come with 2 slat grill similar to the X3M. No more active grills on X3

Weren't there reliability issues? Didn't they issue a lifetime warranty on them?

The new M240i has an active grill, so I doubt it’s a shortage thing or reliability issue.

Nothing to do with the chip storage. I believe the 360 camera is affected by the chip storage and not the grill, since the x30i comes with active grills IMO. Only delete is the shadowline package for the M40i.

For the LCI, they gave some updates from the M family such as this grill, mirrors, badging on the grill

It looks really weird on a non-LCI.

The rears of both non-LCI and LCI cars are almost identical, except for the lights, so how come they look weird on one and not weird on another?

The LCI M40i rear body has some minor changes that make the aggressive taillight look good. The rear reflectors now have a vertical "vent" on each side below the taillight that looks sportier, and the diffuser has a brand new design as well. At the end, I think the taillights look beautiful on your car, congrats!

They look completely different. The new ones are way more aggressive than the ones that we have. I feel like it belongs on the new ones and not on our model.

thx ))
however these vertical 'vents' are only on an M package, normal x3 LCi does not have these

I'd be happy if the pre-LCI taillights could have their LED strip running all the time. Looks so good with them switched on.

Easy solution to that is to just switch your head lights on. One thing I have noticed is that the plastic boot liner highlighted in the picture is slightly a different shape on the LCI, so the original one doesn't quite line up with the shape of the new light. I'm going to enquire with BMW and if I find a part number I will post. Doesn't stop you fitting them, but it doesn't form a good water seal. U can see this on the attached pictures
