Yelled and cursed at by HR? If that truly happened I'd say your buddy is safe. He just needs to document the incident in writing to his boss and express how emotionally impacted he was by the whole ordeal. Document that shit....In.... writing...In a company-based e-mail to his boss...Now....

Holy Crap!!! After reading through all this am I glad that I never worked anywhere where there was an HR dept. I would have been fired in a week, LOL. The BS that seems to go down is crazy. Good Luck to your friend though.
