Red M235i Totaled
Hi, folks,
I have to share a very sad story. My red on red, 2015 M235i Coupe, was totaled about a month ago. A careless food delivery driver hit driver side of engine bay at full speed in a Friday night (He was going East and I was going North). Fortunately he drove a Prius and the accident was on local. I think we were driving around 30mph at the time. His car pushed mine from the very right lane onto the curb and then I also hit the light pole. All airbags were out. I suffered a minor injury and almost recovered now. I kinda understand why people buy massive SUVs/trucks now but no I will never be a SUV/truck guy just in sake of handling! The only mistake I had was I did not get everything out of the trunk! Important stuffs were out but I still have some toolboxes in there along with my grocery and some camping stuff. The next day when the battery drained completely, trunk cannot be opened and the insurance company did not want to further damage the car. My red has 694xx miles on it. Only stranded me once when the coolant tank hose exploded. Get the parts for 40 bucks and very easy fix. Recently work done are the rear brake pads and put 4 new Michelin PS4 on them in September. Love the car, N55 is very strong and easy to maintain. Will get an M2 in the future since my tesla truck is coming soon. Now I am landing with an used Audi A7 as a bridge car. Good enough, but cannot compete with 235/240 at all. Pictures attached. Feel free to ask any questions. |

What kind of injury did you have?
You are so lucky he hit the fender area and not directly into the drivers door. Damn, the quality of the top two pictures (from a camera phone?) are really good. |

I guess you have the 60/40 split backseat. Then it is really hard to get inte the trunk without power. Otherwise you can open the middle part from inside the passengercompartment.
Sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you recover fully and that you find a new car soon. The crash safety in our small cars are amazing, higher then many suv even. |

Sorry abt that. The truck is for family use and camping. But it's expensive. Cannot afford a new M2 and the truck at the same time. My plan is to get an low mileage used M2 around 2025 when the majority of debt on the truck should be paid off.
My new daily driving is an used Audi A7. |

Besides he hit my fender, I feel really lucky is he's driving a small car not those monster trucks. Unfortunately monster truck is very common in the LA city area and they are annoying considering their width and the capability of drivers which are not professional rig truck driver level. I have cuts on hands due to airbag deployment and a large piece of flesh was peeled off from my right leg. I can still walk but actually rely on left leg mainly. I've no idea why that area since I was in a shock after the hit. |

You may want to pry open the hood and attach a battery or charger to the jump charging terminals on the passenger side. I have locked my trunk with the battery disconnected (idiot) and this worked with the key fob.
