Question about putting brake fluid in steering reservoir?

I mistakenly put brake fluid in the power steering reservoir. I immediately noticed and emptied the reservoir before starting car (328). I ordered a new reservoir and chf-11s from fcp. I should be getting it in tomorrow and replacing reservoir Friday. I have read to do a flush on the system which I plan to do per a write up in the diy forum. We never ran the car after the mistake. My question is an opinion...do ya think that any brake fluid could have made it down the hose to pump? It was probably in there 5 mins before I poured it out. Also suctioned everything out of bottom. This happened Monday.

Test to see the density of fluids in a clear glass put the steering one in first then brake fluid if the brake fluid stay at the top you should be fine if it mix's or sinks ur gonna need to replace that part take a look at it no matter what

This is not an all or nothing situation.

You are flushing the system, and a few stray molecules of brake fluid that are left after you flush, are not going to hurt anything.

You can always flush again after running the car getting everything cycled through the pump
