Moving to Northern Virginia

Hi,

I am moving to Northern Virginia with my 2018 M240i.

After I get settled, I'm contemplating a catless downpipe.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good garage
in the Vienna/Fairfax/Tyson's area?

Thanks!!!

Check with these local sponsors of the National Capital Chapter of BMW CCA:
Fairfax Service Center
2850 Prosperity Avenue
Fairfax, VA 22031
703-560-1700

Road Race Technologies
23700 Overland Drive,
Dulles, VA 20166
(703) 661.4222

I'm sure the type of mod you're planning has been done in the area, but be aware that VA has biennial emission testing.

If you're looking for a catted DP, I have an ER one I'm going to sell... bought it from another forum member a few months ago but haven't gotten around to installing. Located in Fairfax.

Oh and BMW of Fairfax for regular service is your best bet in the area. For mods, the shop on prosperity is decent, I've used Curry's in falls church too

Thanks!

I'm not sure a catted DP will give me much gain over stock, and also unclear it will pass emissions.

Hmmm...I might be learning the DIY for the downpipe if I have to swap it out every 2 years.

I know that this is a super late reply and I hope that you already have everything squared away, but if you're already registered in VA with tags (even the 30 day ones), I'd try looking into where RAPIDPASS will have the mobile monitoring systems on entry/exit ramps. It will read your exhaust emissions and it won't matter the state of any lights on the dash or readiness of sensors.

That sounds downright Orwellian. I thought I was getting away from the nanny state by moving from California!

RAPIDPASS can save you some time vs. sitting at your local inspection station. Just send in your payment.
