Can the parking brake pads cause the brake light to stay on if they're bad?

My brake light came on the other day and on idrive it says rear brake pads. I replaced the rear pads, rotors and wear sensor about 8 months ago and they still look good. Can the parking brake pads cause the light to illuminate? The yellow brake light stays on while driving.

No

There are no sensors in the parking brake shoes.

Only at the handle for telling you the parking brake is engaged.

If you're not experiencing anything unusual when braking, then have the rear brake sensors checked. Could be that it may have been jogged loose or broken by some kind of road debris. Happened to my ride a few years back. Trusted mechanic replaced the sensor and all was good.

I think someone posted here before that you might need to shim up the brake sensor as it didn't sit right and would cause an early alert.

Pulled the wheel off and found the brake sensor wires had snapped. Turns out I still had the old brake wear sensor with wires intact so I reinstalled it and no more brake light.
