I had heard that Noelle in Germany does the factory stock computer and tunes and that they have great and safe tunes. Anyone here try them?

I've never heard of them, but I have only been around for 18 months.
You should head over to the 3 series forums, specifically the 340 (same engine), and ask about them. This is where all the tuning information is for our B58 engine

Never heard of them. MHD provides really good safe and reliable tunes with the option of flashing the car back to stock at anytime, most N54/N55 users have had great results with MHD. They only released a tune for the B58 about a month ago, so not much data to go off of for the B58.

Go BM3 or MHD.

After some more research, I decided to go ahead with the Noelle tune. They basically reprogram the entire computer. Took almost 2 hours. I have had several tuned cars and this thing is really stout. Shocking actually.

They are in Germany and my local shop connected to them for the download.

Here is the info from their website:

https://www.noelleperformance.com/wp...-Statement.pdf

I had heard that they do the software for BMW software?

Warranty is impressive

Thanks for shedding some light on this Hekler

I would say this beats out any tune out there in regards to performance/reliability. That warranty is = to Dinan as well. Hope to hear more about this after you get it installed!

I have nothing to compare the tune with as this is the only one I have tried, but this this is incredible! Couldn't be happier with a huge increase in torque and horsepower. On the freeway its very smooth and mileage seems to be very good

Never heard them, any reason why this tune would be superior to BM3?

The BM3 looks like a great platform. The Noelle is more expensive but does seem to reprogram the whole computer and the performance gains are shocking.

If there website is correct, there are very few installers of this software.

The warranty and how the tune functions is top of the line.

Thank you, It is very good indeed. The tune is shocking. I had seen a lot of transmission flashes available so I sent them an email asking about what all they do when they did my tune(It took about 1 1/2hrs) changing the computer? Here is what they sent back.....now mind you, there tune is expensive...…

" As to the transmission, it was altered, along with traction control, abs, electronic diff. Our programming was very comprehensive and manufacturer quality. I am glad you like it and are enjoying it. By far the best software on the market."

They like their stuff....

My concern would be that you must take your car to a "programming center" for warranty service and they are kind of sparse. It would be a very expensive tow to get to one from Massachusetts to New Jersey.

What do you notice the most about the transmission after the tune?

If something did happen you could just take it to your local dealer and could reflash stock tune. This tune does not show anything.

Then you could go to the Noelle installer at your convenience.

Ron gives very good email support if you want specific answers on anything. Just look website for contact info

I am not 100% sure because I put this tune on with only 500 miles or so.

I know the downshift modes in sport + with shifter to the left is very crisp and downshifts and upshifts are fantastic when driven hard.

I had seen many people talking about different trans-tunes but the more I drove the car I realized that the tranny from Germany works great.

Next time I am at your shop you can drive it and see what you think.

I have the tune along with catted downpipe and dinan CAI and M performance muffler. Its so amazing it is so fast and smooth. They claim 100 hp gain and I think NO way!! But I believe. I have tuned many cars and normally 40-50 hp on a tune is great.

By far and above the best tune I have ever tried. The tranny is great. The performance of the car is very impressive. The only downside is price. For the performance and warranty peace of mind, best mod ever...

Hey Hekler, thanks for taking the plunge with Noelle. Honestly this seems like a much more solid and reliable deal than BM3. I don't want to gamble with my factory warranty, and don't mind paying for the peace of mind as the Noelle warranty seems to be as good as Dinan.

For anyone still reading this thread, a few questions,

does Noelle Motors make their own brand of catted DPs?

For a B58, is a DP prerequisite for this tune?

Curious about any takes on that.

Also, Hekler, which catted DP are you running? Any issues with the tune yet?

Noelle only does computer related upgrades.

I am running the evolution raceworks catted pipe, dinan airbox.

I first just applied the tune and was shocked how good it was......2 months later put on the DP, noticeable improvement and then added the airbox. I couldn't be happier...….the warranty is amazing.....
