Dinan Intake - Some notes
Installed it with the MPPK box (which I will probably be selling the airbox...)
Something interesting I found: Gains on the MPPK box (standard on the M2) are said to be lower: https://www.dinancars.com/product/d7...or-bmw-f87-m2/ Max HP Gain 8 Max TQ Gain 6 vs https://www.dinancars.com/product/d7...-f32-f36-435i/ Peak HP Gain 10 Peak TQ Gain 15 Which could be differences in tune, or it could be due to the intake configuration - and is probably not noticeable in any way, but it's there. The sound is more muted compared to the BMS intake, but the throttle seems sharper and more direct. The drivability is also a lot smoother, and it feels like the powerband is more linear. I'll hopefully have dyno here soon where I can see what we are dealing with before I do an inlet, MILVS and tune. Last edited by Taskmaster; 02-04-2019 at 03:13 PM.. |

It's the same intake. I never really put much merit in advertised numbers. That being said, yea it's probably because M2 is tuned up from the factory or it could be the negligible difference between days. Ambient Temp, humidity, heat soak, break in of engine, ETC ETC all factors.
