Wheels with Tires Painting Option

I want to paint this 17 stock wheel with tires on in black.

I was going to just spray paint it but I am not sure if I should paint paint the barrel too

So I am thinking about just plasti dip spraying it.

If you want to just paint the face, would you spray paint (permanent) it or plasti dip it?

Wheel is off the car btw

Fonsie from dipyourcar.com said use one can per wheel no matter what

I think I used maybe 2 cans on 4 wheels when I did it for other car.

It started to peel after 6 months or so. I am not sure if it has to do with thickness.
