Was tinkering the idea, what if you fit the n55 exhaust manifold, cut the bottom part and weld a t4 flange and there you go, cheap single turbo setup for the n54?

Why not just grab an n55 manifold and cut it off and do the same. You could also cut your two n54 manifolds and bring them together and weld on a single turbo too.

This guy did it with the n54 manifolds.

Gasket style and spacing between cylinders is the same on the N54/N55 engines, however the bolt pattern is different. Also if you are going to go through all of this hassle and as buster said above, you'd be better off not using the OEM N55 manifold but rather the OEM N54 manifolds for better flow. On this note we have several OEM N54 manifolds cut off, if you are itching to do some fab work on your own kit let us know and we will get you a set of these manifolds for a great price to get started on it.
