JB4 N54 vs N55
Hi
im looking at map 1 and 2 of the jb4 for N54 and N55 and i see this N54 Map 1: 13psi. Suggested for most racing applications. Map 2: 14.5psi. Suggested for those with intake and other bolt on modifications with 93 RM2 or higher octane. N55 Map 1: Additive target, around 4psi over stock. Map 2: Additive target, around 6psi over stock. Suggested for those with 93 octane and bolt on modifications. Also good for small E85 mixtures. Why such a big difference in PSI?? |

With the N54 it is not adding 13psi, it is absolute value which is about 5 PSI over stock.

FYI (and you may already know this) - Don't get focused too much on total psi with respect to power. It's all dependent on the size of the turbo(s), their efficiency plus other factors. Lots of turbo 4 and 6 cylinder motors run tiny turbos that run 20+psi. The M235 in stock form runs around 8-10psi depending on ambient conditions and load. It certainly doesn't mean the M235 is less powerful than another motor running more boost. Way too many factors to consider.
