i am replacing one of the headlight unit with lighting package to a new genuine part due to a nasty scratch on the outer housing. :/
will any coding be needed upon installation? (for the adjustment of the brightness, angle of the light projection, etc) or will it be as simple as plug-and-go?

replacement unit will be a genuine bmw part. exactly same as the old unit.

It may or may not require coding.

For starters, you will need to test out units to see if functioning. If not, likely they will need at least injecting and factory coding lighting modules. Then, if still not working, it may require programming. If LED, it will need initialization procedure through ISTA+.
