*dont worry tried it on a test spot*

Take them off and get them powder coated black, ours are the same on the 235, they have lost the gloss finish, done this on a few cars and its perfect

Getting our done next week....20 is a perfect fix.

Cheers
John

Garage List
I had the same and took them off (pretty easy to do); cleaned them up; sanded; and re-sprayed them in matt black Halfords Very High Temp aerosol paint. Just under 8/can.

Seems to be fine. I don't claim they look particularly special but actually, I'm fine with them being understated.

It seemed to me that gloss is always going to be a problem to keep shiny, especially in wet UK weather. So I conceded that matt is probably a realistic compromise. I had considered red (to match the panoply of tail lights/reflectors) or 'M' blue-blue-red, but life's too short to speding too much time on this!

I seem to recall that Coke or Pepsi and Aluminum Foil do the trick! Google it
