Elvis' lost and found BMW 507 now fully restored and to be shown off at Pebble Beach
BIMMERPOST NEWS Elvis' lost and found BMW 507 is now fully restored and to be shown off at Pebble Beach You may remember when Elvis Presley's lost and found BMW 507 was placed in the BMW Museum. BMW Classic Group then began work on restoring the famed car, and two years later, that work is complete! BMW Classic is set to debut the restored classic at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 21. Just to recap, like many of our current members, this special BMW 507 was purchased by Elvis when he was stationed in Germany by the US Army. Elvis saw famed BMW racing driver Hans Stuck race the 507 at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry in southern France and he purchased that very same car in 1958. Many years later the car was found by Jackie Jouret from Bimmer magazine in quite literally a barn. The car wasn't in the best of shape when it was first displayed at the BMW Museum (see link above). The car didn't even have the original heart anymore, it was replaced with a Chevy V8. Not only did they have to build a new engine for the car, they had to remove and correct eight, count them eight, paintjobs the car had received over its lifetime. In fact the original color of the car was white (Elvis had it painted red to hide lipstick messages written by fans), and so it was restored to white. Source: BMW Classic |

I have been following this since it was found and I will be there when it is unveiled at Pebble Beach.
This past Wednesday I received my press credentials for the events at Pebble Beach and I cannot wait. I attended the Amelia Island Concours in March and it was awesome!!!! And now I get to attend a weeks worth of automotive awesomeness and see this BMW 507!!!! |

Cool story! Those cars already pull 7 figures at auction, can't imagine what this one would be worth!

Good observation- no expert so will be interested to see response on this. Perhaps accident damage to the front end. Never seen a 507 without the indicators - and there does not appear to be any holes or damage!

Elvis's 507 Lost & Found...
I was at that press event at the Museum two years ago. It would be cool to see Elvis's finished 507 now.
You can find more pics of BMW Classic's rebuilding of Elvis's car here... https://www.bmwgroup-classic.com/en/elvis-507.html
