Windows Tinted...
Just got my windows tinted, and I said something about the felt, but like most installers that i have read about, said it wasnt necessary and proceded not to do it... now, i just went 5 days without rolling down my windows, so all should be good from now on. have not rolled them down yet, so i figured it wouldnt be too late to do the felt myself, so should i diy, or listen to the installer when he said only cheap tints scratch, and i dont need to do the work?

You need to put that felt on. I used Formula One Pinnacle Series Ceramic tint and my installer (who does a lot of BMWs not once even suggested that I can forego the moleskin. He didn't charge extra to do it either.
Since you haven't rolled down the windows yet, you can still put it on yourself.... Although I believe you will have to roll down the windows to access the rubber piece. Hopefully rolling it down once won't harm the tint. Last edited by Wingnut335; 03-14-2016 at 01:14 PM.. |

+1 for having them cut the lower rubber strip: quick, easy and peace of mind. They should know better...
