220i/228i (N20) M235i exhaust VS straight pipe?
Hello everyone!
For a few months already I'm looking for some cheap exhaust for 220i. Don't take me as a cheapskate, but I want to do this on a budget. So there are two possible ways. I have seen some vids of 220i/228i vers. with M235i exhaust or in general with 35i exhaust (I have seen some for <$300). It doesn't sound bad at all. But quite stock. Then we have lots of aftermarket exhausts, but they are like >$1000 and that's a lot. So then there is an other way - straight pipe. And I'm a bit scared. I don't really want to have headache - no idea how it sounds without muffler. Do you guys have any tips for ,,how to make a straight pipe more decent than it really is" ? I know, thats not for what are straight pipes done, but idea of cracking windows is not my cup of tea (at least with 4 cylinder :P). Thanks all your tips! Yes, I do more look for styling of a rear end, but sound is an nice add-on. |

I dont like the sound of straight pipe exhausts
I recommend you get the Active Autowerke F30 328 exhaust and install it on your 220 I have had lots of customers with 228 do that and they are very happy with the results Price is nowhere near $1000
