Yet another question about the M235i owners manual...
So I recently purchased a used 2014 M235i. It was a long distance "sight unseen" deal.
I asked the dealer about the 2nd key fob and owners manual being part of the deal. Turns out the 2nd key fob is one the way and they overlooked no owners manual in the car. Is it a big deal to have it since the manual is available on-line in the Tech Pkg option? Just curious or was even thinking that a "hard copy" owners manual might not come with newer BMW cars?? Thanks in advance. Cheers.

The manual is built into iDrive. You can also download a PDF copy of the manual on the web.

Did you buy the car from a dealership or from an individual? If the seller was a dealership then the absence of a manual is very odd and I would find it extremely vexing. All new cars come with manuals, a pair of keys, spare tire/tire repair kit, etc. You may feel it's not worth making a fuss about but, as I said, I would be annoyed by such evidence of either disingenuousness (at not admitting it was lost) or dishonesty. I would require an explanation from the seller about what happened to the manual and I would use whatever leverage remains available (which may not be much) to have them obtain a replacement copy, including sub-manuals for iDrive, etc. from BMW. Failing that, I would take it up with BMW directly. Every diligent car owner is entitled to a hard copy of all vehicle documentation, including the manual.

As mentioned, the car should come with the owners/services manuals, a pair of keys, spare tire/tire repair kit, etc. Personally, I would be more upset about a missing key than the manual since the latter can be downloaded/printed online as suggested above. An extra key will cost you a few hundred dollars to replace at the dealership. In your case, you're getting both keys, so that's good. Just get the manual online (or use the i-drive for reference).

The car fax and all that checked out. I just like having all the original stuff. They are tying to run it down for me.

My owner's manual was originally located in the trunk, when looking for it when the car arrived off the delivery truck. I then relocated it to the glove box.

Yeah I mean on a lease return I believe they charge you 500 dollars if you don't return the manual. If they manual is "worth 500 dollars" which it obviously isn't, In many ways they just douped you out of 500. I would definitely want it just for completeness. And as someone else mentioned, if you ever do decide to sell or trade in the car, the burden of the missing manual will now be your problem.

You know---I had not closely checked the trunk. Just did and it was not there but I see your point. I did find an extra trunk net however that had not been used yet. Compressor and tire kit too. A few tools as well. Thx.

Very glad you pursued this to a successful conclusion rather than let it go, only to end up $500 down. No way should you be liable for someone else's incompetence or neglect.
