Those who have cold weather package

It was a little cool this morning on the way to work so I decided to try out the heated seats. I have to say that the seat did not get all that warm compared to the heated seats in my previous car (2007 E92). My M235 is almost 2 months old, btw. Anybody else notice the same thing?

They should get toasty and fast, something might be wrong with yours.

Did you turn up temperature level so all 3 bars were showing? Driving in Eco Mode will also reduce the seat heat output.

How did the steering wheel heater work?

I get great warmth in my car in the seats and steering wheel, but if this thread is about cold "water", perhaps you need a plumber!?

I run mine on II with the steering wheel on and the top down, it was 62 out this morning and all was good. Mother always cranks her seat to III as it makes her back feel better.

As stated, Eco-Pro changes everything...

Other cars I have had it seems to be cycled so like the 5th time the washer fluid is activated or something.

And on the seat heating, agreed, 3 bars too hot for my rear.

Above and beyond the technical question on heat, it's very and sincerely nice that as adults we still stay connected to our parents and, like you, take Mom for a drive! If any/most/all of us still have your Mom, give her a call to say "hi"!

LOL - I took my Mom with me on my 3.5 week Euro Delivery trip - got home last Saturday. 3500+ miles with her. I'm quite happy to NOT talk to her for a while, much as I love her...

Sportstick I feel terrible...when I refer to "Mother", I mean my wife as she is the mother to my children. Unfortunately, my mother passed some time ago, but I do agree with your sentiment. I stayed in contact with my mother and called every other day for 30 years.

I just felt the need to clarify.

Thanks....and sorry for misunderstanding your usage...but I think we all share the same feelings. Whether you have your wife or your Mother, it's good to keep them "warm"!

My heated seats get quite warm. I dont think I have headlight washers, and also dont have heated steering wheel (msport package). I added heated seats to my Xterra, and those arent nearly as hot as the ones in my 2. Those are the only two cars I've had with heated seats so I dont have a lot to compare with.

An observation

I wonder if there's an efficiency difference between heated seats that have leather and heated seats that have SensaTec -- and, for that matter, heated manual seats vs. heated power seats. The variety of responses in this string begs the thought.

I have manual SensaTec seats, and I find the seat warmers to be middle-of-the-road: they get warmer than those in my Lexus, but not quite as toasty as the ones I've had in a MINI and a Nissan 370z -- and nowhere near as hot as the ones I had in a MkIV VW GTi.
