M steering wheel / M shift knob factory options for E92 335i?

Wanna figure this out once and for all. The 2007 335i (sorry, title should say E90 it's a sedan) I bought had a few distinct features, and I used to think they were factory upgrades but now I'm not so sure.

1. M Steering Wheel (thick w/ emblem)
2. M Shift Knob (manual obv, w/ emblem)
3. Badass exhaust note. Mechanic told me it's probably stock (certainly looks stock) but with the golf-tee mod, but in some old dealer service paperwork I dug up it says "Recommended customer replace aftermarket exhaust".

I used to think that maybe I had the sports package, but I don't have the thigh-extension-thingie that those seats apparently have.

So did the previous owner(s) mod the steering wheel & shift knob or were these options? Car also came w/ aftermarket 19s.

Yes the previous owner installed the shifter and the wheel. 07 didn't come with the M thicker steering wheel. If you had the sport package it would come with the regular sport steering wheel and regular shifter. The seats are a dead give away if you have sports or not, unless he swapped the seats prior to selling the car. Google BMW vin decode and put your vin in there it will tell you what options you have.

the seats are not a dead give away, most people swap out seats all the time. Like mentioned above check VIN.

Cool thanks, I looked it up. Would be nice to know what options I actually have instead of what was available.

How did you know that about the 07s and the M steering wheels?
