Memory Seats in 335xi
I don't understand these memory seats. I have two memory seats positions. Sometimes I press 1 or 2 and it just moves as I press, I have to keep it pressed so it can move the mirrors and seats and depressed them when done. Sometimes all I have to do, is press the button once and everything moves all together. Is this a glitch or something wrong that I'm not doing. All my other cars, all I have to do is press the button once and everything moves at once.

I think its also related to which key you are using. The keys pick up the settings saved when they are used. When you unlock the car or put the key in it remembers the settings. Maybe if you use the key with the saved settings, one touch does it?

it's normal that you need to keep pressing the button to move the seat and mirror to the memory position if your engine is on. If the engine is off, you can just press once and the seat will move to the preset position. This setting should be for safety reason. You can check whether "N" and "P" gear, it may work also. Happy drive!

I just use one key to get into my car. It doesn't matter if I'm in P, N or D. I have to hold the button. But sometimes all I have to hit is the button once, while the car is on, and it moves the seats and mirror. I was wondering if this was a glitch or anybody else experience the same thing.

I think the memory program is buggy-as-shit. I have mine set to move the seat when the door is unlocked, and the seat position and passenger side mirror all move correctly, every time. However, the driver side mirror is NEVER in the same position!!!
It should move to the same position based on the FOB used, but every time I get in the car, the mirror is looking somewhere different. If I push the "1" button on the seat, it moves to some other random position! Sometimes looking up too high, other times looking way down. Hell, I've even noticed that it will be in a different position after it has been "fixed" and I've driven a few miles. I've reset the memory hundreds of times now, and it still comes out all FUBAR. But only on the driver side mirror..... Oh, and I do get the same bizarre functioning on the seat buttons too. Sometimes a "press and hold" is needed, others just a single push gets it done.

my car is doing the same thing the driver side mirror is always in a different position. what i tried and i think worked, is delete all the memory on you key fobs (idid it through idrive, it should also be in the manual). and reprogrammed them i haven't had a problem with the mirror since. or i haven't been paying attention to it changing. good luck with it. i'm going to the dealer for the 3rd time in 3 months for the same thing. can u say lemon law

I'll check the manual on clearing the FOBs and memory positions, but I don't have iDrive, so it may be more complicated. Anyway, worth a shot, as the current methods aren't working...

I never aware that BMW has the function to move the seat when the door is unlocked. It's something called "Easy Entry" with other brand and BMW shouldn't come with this function. Correct me if I am wrong as I am always looking forward for this function.

After you set the mirror after you get in the car, did you set it to the memory, if not, you are just adjusting the position and you are restoring the wrong position everytime you press the M button again.

I attached a screenshot from the manual that should clarify when it is one-touch vs. press-and-hold

Regarding the mirror - I learned that the driver-passenger toggle switch at the mirror adjustment control should be on the driver-side position for the reverse mirror adjustment to work. It may need to be there for other automatic positioning as well.

I don't know if HK spec vehicles are different, but the directions on how to activate this feature is on pages 40 and 41 of the owner's manual. At least, those are the page numbers as indicated by the .pdf I downloaded from e90post.com.....

That's the problem, it sometimes does it and sometimes it doesn't. I can be in my car with the car on, and I press the button once and it moves everything automatically. But most of the times with the car on, I have to hold the button. Why will it work sometimes and not the other times. This is my problem.
