There is a way to code it, but it won't show up as a big obvious number so imo its pretty worthless

I will miss this on my BRZ. I hardly even remember that I have an analogue speedometer on that car. Very motorcycle-like.
But I won't miss the BRZ's lack of power. Should only be a week until my M235i arrives! |

I may be a bit confused, I apologize. Are the pictures shown after coding, or if I order the technology package on a new 2 series will I be able to see my speed digitally? I was looking online at a 2014 owners manual, and it does not show the ability to display the digital speed, unless perhaps I am missing something. Thanks.

By default, the 2 series does not have an option to show the digital speedometer -- even with all the packages.
It can only be enabled (as shown in the picture above) through coding. Quote:

Can/will the dealer do this coding when you pick up the car? My MINI has the classic giant speedometer which I NEVER look at. I use the fairly large and conveniently located digital speed readout exclusively. I will really miss that is I don't have it on my new car.

I'm not an expert in this matter, but I can't imagine a dealer would do this. It's not part of the features so they have no reason/incentive to do it.
That being said, we can help you learn how to do it on this forum or you can maybe find a remote coder! Quote:

I agree and the surprising thing is that it is standard on the MINI. Just a few presses of the button on the turn signal. It also appears to be much larger than the one in the picture I saw on this thread.
