It is the same here in Oz. Besides having the fins in the front bar vents, the LHS vent is fully closed. The NA vents do not have the fins and have both vents partially closed only. From the forum pictures, it appears that they have an extra cooler just behind the LHS vent (just like the 1M). I like the NA version better and the front end of the car looks more aggressive. I have since replaced both front vents with the NA versions. Easy job.

Has anyone confirmed what is the mystery cooler on the NA models? I can't believe it's a warm climate thing as we'd get it in Australia too.

To me it seems to be engine coolant. Not an oil cooler.

My M235i does not have the little cross bar and the little vents are closed off.

Does "NA" mean North American?

I'm in Georgia. I was wondering why my vents are closed.

Can you please post the part numbers of your stock vent grills that include those horizontal fins? The fins alone might have their own part numbers. I have an NA car that didn't come with those, but I like the look, and would like to get them. Thank you.

So it was in front of me the whole time, but I was assuming that fin piece had it's own part number. I hope you're right, and it does come as part of the vent grill/trim part.
Thanks

Is BMW getting rid of the extended radiator altogether?

Not sure why nobody else but US models got the hot climate extended radiator.
