ASD Bypass Plus + and Trunk Sound Dampening
I got TechnicPNP's ASD Bypass Harness, and added front/rear RCA outputs for amplifier hookups, along with a relay for remote amp turn on. I call it ASD Bypass Plus
Note: The iDrive outputs we are converting to RCA's are balanced/differential outputs. You must use an AMP that supports this otherwise you risk shorting the (-) negative side to ground, and potentially damaging the HU. You can try to use a line driver that supports balanced inputs like the Audiocontrol Matrix Plus if you need to connect to an amp with unbalanced inputs. http://www.audiocontrol.com/car-audi...s/matrix-plus/ Also this void's any/all warranty with TechnicPNP, since you are modifying it! https://technicpnp.com/product/asd-bypass-harness/ I had a lot of extra sound dampening mat from front/rear speaker installs, so i used the extra to go over the trunk area with the remainder. I think i got most of what was easily accessible Thank god for the roller tool it makes the install go alot quicker for this. I'm pretty happy with this Noico brand 80mil mat, it comes in sheets that make it pretty easy to cut up and work with over a large roll. https://www.amazon.com/Noico-deadeni...ning+mat&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/Noico-Install...7W0CZ2XRR95PXZ Last edited by zipphreak; 01-08-2017 at 10:05 AM.. |

I plan on doing this very thing next week! Although I'm only adding a mono amp to power 2 SWS subs. Can you tell me the wire color codes to the ASD Bypass harness? I just need the rear set. Thanks.
EDIT ADD: I'm getting my harness on Monday and I noticed in your picture that it seems to be using the standard aftermarket wiring harness color codes like this: Is this pretty much correct? Last edited by turbocomppro; 01-07-2017 at 11:33 PM.. |

I don't know but see my post on the wiring colors
http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1124786 Also make sure you are using an amp that supports balanced/differential inputs. Otherwise you could have issues. -paul |

I have the harness itself (picking it up tomorrow actually). I will be doing the same as you, adding RCA outputs to the harness so I don't have to hack up the original wires. I'm guessing at this point, you didn't write down which color on Technic's harness matches which output.
But looking at your pics above, it's quite safe to assume Technic is using the standard color coding for the pre-amps since you've tapped into only the white, purple, green, and gray sets to the RCA's. EDIT ADD: Technic's harness actually have markings the wires (i.e. Front Left Positive (FL+)). And my guess is correct that the color coding they've used is same as the industry standard matching the color code chart I posted above. Just a FYI. Have you guys tried coding out your ASD? I found that if you modify it to something it won't do (like the M3/M4 engine), then ASD system disables completely on my newer i-Level ASD module.
